Erinworld Enterprises steampunk jewellery now live on Artfire.com!

I've now posted some of my handmade steampunk jewellery to artfire.com! Up next will be setting  up the Etsy store, which is the site with the most traffic and sales, based on my investigations.

Here's a link to my Erinworld Enterprises store on Artfire.com:

It's quite easy to remember, too. :D

I've been approved for a business bank account, but I'm still waiting for HSBC bank to contact me so I can head in and sign the papers. Paperwork and setting up a business behind the scenes involves a good deal of time and patience, that's for sure.

Today I also purchased a couple books on home and internet business. I also spied a good tip that it's important to post a video advertisement on youtube.com to drive traffic to your store. Great idea! I'll have to get on that in the good weather in the springtime.

Let me know what you think of the various items I have on artfire.com and icraft.ca!

Some test items up for sale now!

I just posted a few initial items for sale on icraft.ca

There are two brass steampunk rings, cyberpunk earrings, and solid brass art deco earrings and an impressive choker. You can see them here:

I'm checking things out to see how quickly sales happen and what not. I'll also need to load up a few items on artfire.com and etsy.com in the next week or two, to see where I get the most sales.

So far I really like icraft.ca and enjoy that it's a Toronto based site!

Coming soon April 2, 2010: official launch of Erinworld Enterprises!

Welcome, friends! My handmade jewellery business - open to Canadian and US customers - will officially launch online at erinworld.com on April 3, 2010. I've named it Erinworld Enterprises.

I will be selling unusual and interesting hand made jewellery, specifically necklaces, chokers, and rings, in the following types of styles: steampunk, art deco, egyptian, neo victorian, and cyberpunk. Many of my pieces - all of which are hand crafted by me - will contain recycled parts such as old pre-1970 solid metal vintage watch movements. This recycling/resuse aspect certainly fits well with my environmentally minded personality. Since I also have a penchant for quality and heft, many of my designs, particularly the egyptian, steampunk, and deco ones, will be made out of solid brass parts - not plated, not plastic!

Over the past few weeks, and currently, I'm going through the long process of getting ready behind the scenes to launch my business.  As a first-time entrepreneur, there's certainly a lot to learn and do! I just got approved for a business bank account with HSBC, recently registered as a vendor with the government, ordered a lot of supplies, and am designing and building my inventory of jewelry.

I'm currently focused most on designing my webpage storefront behind the scenes. A preliminary preview page, including photos of some designs, will be up at erinworld.com in time for Valentine's Day. On April 3rd (Good Friday!) I'll be activating links to my online store, so that shopping can officially begin!

I sincerely hope you'll enjoy the unique items I'll be offering. Please spread the word to any friends you think may be interested in my designs!
